Belarusian Green Party is a political party that was founded on April 17, 1994 and registered on June 3, 1994.
The main policy objectives of the party: the creation of a healthy living environment, social and natural settings which provide maximum opportunities for its development; the development of a spiritual, moral relationship to all living things; the formation of an ecological approach to all spheres of human life; peace between peoples and nations; prohibition, and eventually eliminate of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, as well as the most cruel forms of conventional weapons.
The party maintains the principles of the European Green Party (EGP), and has been an observer member since 2007.
The main activities of the party: the struggle for basic democracy, equal rights for all citizens, the social economy, alternative energy, non-violent political ethics.
The Belarusian Green Party is one of the founders of the social movement against the construction of the Belarusian Nuclear Energy Plant.
The Part that stands for the maximum democratic culture inside the party. By informal agreement, no member of the Party management receives a salary as party functionary. All major decisions are made not by a single leader, and but by the central council after extensive brainstorming.
The Party is guided by the Law of Belarus on the Activities of Political Parties.
